Biography

Richard Hyde was born in Plainview, Texas. After graduating from Oral Roberts University, he lived in Europe and Asia for five years, planting congregations among indigenous believers.  He then studied at the Institute of Holy Land Studies where he completed the course work for a master's degree in Middle East Studies, with an emphasis in Islam. After returning to the US he met his lovely wife and moved to San Antonio, TX.  He was the founding elder and Torah teacher of Beth Simcha Messianic Congregation in San Antonio from 1990- 2000.

In 2000 the L-rd called us to move to Germany to work in a reconciliation ministry between Germans and Jews until G-d called us to make Aliyah, to come home to Israel. We lived on Mount Carmel in Haifa but during the war in 2006, we moved to a small village near Tiberias.  Currently, Richard is the director of Heart of G-d Ministries, helping to plant and build up new congregations in the Land.

Carolyn Margolin-Hyde was born in Sterling, Illinois and raised in an Orthodox Jewish synagogue. She graduated from University of Illinois and practiced nursing for many years. She led worship at Beth Simcha for 10 years and has served as Worship Chair for the UMJC, Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations. She has written and recorded many worship songs in English and Hebrew and has 3 CD's:

"He Will Appear" has many congregational worship songs.

"Some of the Best of Carolyn Hyde".  This CD is a compilation of the cassette "Song of Songs" and "Hear from Heaven."

"Fine Linen" is now complete!  An original collection of worship songs in Hebrew and English that are being used here in congregations in Israel.  Produced by Richard "Ears" Hyde and Marc Chopinsky with musicians from Tents of Mercy and Morning Star congregations.

Carolyn served as worship leader at K'tsir Asher, The Harvest of Asher, a new Messianic Congregation in Akko, and now serves as a worship leader at Kehilat Poriya, another new congregation near Tiberias.

Shalom, Friends,

The Hyde family is unique. In the more than 25 years that I have known them I have been drawn to Yeshua's presence in their lives. Their home and activities are a combination of worship, joy, hunger for more of God and a pioneer spirit.

It is no easy thing for an established family to land in Israel and make the adjustments of language, culture, relationships, education and economics that are involved. Richard and Carolyn came to Israel after the bold step of investing two years in Germany, obeying the Lord in an exceptional calling. They went first to experience reconciliation in their own hearts, then to bring reconciliation between Jews and Germans. As Messianic believers, their approach was to show the Jewishness of Jesus, enabling German people to identify with the Jews through the Savior they've associated with the Church.

What an amazing trail God has led them on. First Texas, then Germany. Now Israel is their home. Here they are making a valuable contribution to the planting of Messianic faith. We find ourselves at an historic turning point. The harvest is ripening in Israeli society. God is giving us unprecedented opportunities to make Yeshua known. As the Master said "The harvest is great, but the laborers are few."

The Hydes are such laborers. I want to thank you for assisting this family in any way you can, to continue laboring as part of the Tents of Mercy.

For Israel's salvation,

Eitan Shishkoff
