MINISTRY TO THE POOR, ORPHANS, AND WIDOWS

G-d makes it clear throughout the Scriptures that He cares deeply for the poor, orphans, and widows.  Indeed, the essence of religion itself is “to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”

The need in Israel is particularly great, as nearly a quarter of the Israeli population lives under the poverty line.  Sadly, 34% of all Israeli children are living in poverty.  Furthermore, over 600,000 Jewish orphans and widows live in Israel today, approximately 11.7% of the total population.
 
We’ve been blessed to be able to reach out in love to many people in a variety of ways.  We particularly seek to help widows and orphans who are in need.
